Volunteer leader training sessions will take place during two time slots:

Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Membership
Every educator deserves a professional home—and it’s your job to make sure they find it in ATPE! In this session, we’ll explore how to keep recruitment energy alive year-round, from back-to-school buzz to end-of-year celebrations. We’ll walk through timelines, activities, and resources to help you find and keep members, plus dive into specific ideas tailored to the rhythms of the school year. We’ll also highlight the Recruit and Reward program and how it can fuel your local unit’s growth. Because when it comes to building your membership, the pursuit never really stops—and you never know when your colleague will say “yes.”

This Land Is Your Land: Owning Your Local Unit’s Impact
This land is your land: your campus, your district, your community. And your local unit is the bridge between ATPE’s statewide mission and the educators and neighbors who call this place home. In this session, we’ll explore how to build a visible, trusted local presence; make your voice heard through local advocacy using lessons from the ATPE Member Advocate Program (ATPE-MAP); and get more involved in the community beyond the campus. You’ll also pick up fresh ideas for local-centric activities—from regular member meetups to a local book club—that keep your unit connected and engaged all year long. No matter where you are on the map, this land is yours to shape.
We the People (Who Show Up): Reimagining Volunteer Engagement
We the people … can’t do it all alone. But with the right approach, you might be surprised how many people are ready to pitch in. In this session, we’ll reimagine what volunteering can look like for your local unit, from micro-volunteering opportunities that fit even the busiest schedules to strategies for motivating, appreciating, and retaining the dedicated members who make it all happen. We’ll also cover team communication, volunteer succession planning, and how to develop your next generation of local leaders. Plus, learn how the campus rep incentive program can help you recognize and grow your volunteer base. When everyone brings a little something to the table, the whole local unit wins.
